Outstanding Achievement Award to Laird Glenbarr, Angus Macalister
Thursday, April 19th, 2007Below is the letter that was recently sent to Laird Glenbarr, Angus Macalister on the occasion of his 70th Birthday announcing that the Board of Directors and Officers of Clan MacAlister had awarded him its highest individual award, the “Outstanding Achievement Award”. Angus has been a great supporter and benefactor of Clan MacAlister and deserves our debt of gratitude for all that he has done for the Clan.

On this the occasion of your 70th Birthday I am happy to announce, in my official capacity as the President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Clan MacAlister Society, that the Officers and Board of Directors by unanimous vote has approved the following resolution in your most deserved honor;
Be it resolved; That on the occasion of the 70th birthday of Laird Glenbarr, Angus Macalister, March 27, 2007; And in honor of his lifelong commitment to the preservation of the name, history and honor of the Glenbarr family; And that in appreciation of his extraordinary gift of Glenbarr Abbey to all MacAlister Clansmen worldwide as the Clan MacAlister Centre; And in recognition of his unwavering love of Scotland and his commitment to the preservation of Highland culture and heritage; It is hereby resolved that Clan MacAlister Society recognizes Angus Macalister, 5th Laird of Glenbarr, Representer of the Ancient and Noble House of Macalister of Glenbarr, with its highest award to an individual for service and commitment to Clan MacAlister, the “Outstanding Achievement Award”.
